Being tempted by the Sin Nature is not sin; only when volition pulls the pin of the grenade does the believer sin. So EGKRATEIA refers to applying God’s Word in faith with the filling of the Holy Spirit to lead you to have self-restraint from the giving over to the temptations of your OSN or Satan’s cosmic system, so that you maintain your fellowship with God. But when we operate under the filling of God the Holy Spirit, “walking by means of the Spirit,” we have the necessary power, coupled with the Bible Doctrine in our souls, to disregard the temptations to sin from our Sin Natures and Satan’s cosmic system, and instead are freed up to impersonally and unconditionally serve one another through AGAPE love. The second category is directed outward or neighbor-ward, towards man, directed toward other members of the human race: patience, kindness and goodness. Likewise, the believer in his spiritual walk needs to remove any form of human works (legalism) from his life, if he is going to walk and excel in the spiritual life. Gal6: Restore anyone caught in sin. So this means operating in AGAPE Love and is “walking in love” as you apply the grace of God in the spiritual life to serve others through love.
